When the battles first began I was quick to draw my sword

So many now have died
What for and why
Maybe if it ends someday I’ll grow up to be a man myself
So unlike all the ones who died or are rotting in a darkened cell
We’ve covered snow in crimson rain and felt war’s glory
But for all those we left back home, I know it’s such a different story

Night is now underway, the moon casts a wide glow
As I make my way back through those hills
The mystic dwellers here hold secrets deep and old
Clues can be found listening to the eerie chill
I can’t remember the lake ever being a bluer blue
